CM thinks ahead in education sector too

By Muslim Saleem
Bhopal, June 7, 2012
The letters written by State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to all people’s representatives urging them to make School Chalen Ham Abhiyan successful through active participation have been positively responded. Not only the people’s representatives, but also parents, teachers as well as administrative officers are all praise fro Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over his zeal to widen the net of primary and secondary education in the state, reports SMS New & Features.
It may be mentioned that in the letter, Chouhan has informed that the ambit of School Chalen Ham Abhiyan is being widened in the State this year. This time, it will not remain confined only to getting children not going to school admitted. Under it, school students will be motivated to complete education at least till the secondary level.
Chouhan said the Abhiyan is being implemented for years so that awareness in society on the importance of education is increased and all children from six to 14 years of age get admission in schools. As a result of the State Government’s sustained efforts, the number of school dropouts has come down considerably. Despite this, there are still several children with special necessities, orphans and destitute children, extremely poor children, child labourers and children of tribals living in slums, who are out of schools due to their specific difficulties. Special and dedicated efforts are required for regularising such students in schools for which it is vital that people’s representatives and voluntary organisations are also linked with the campaign besides Government staff.
Chouhan said in the letter that now the shape of the campaign will be “School Chalen Ham, School Mein Rahen Ham and Kam Se Kam Madhyamik Shiksha Poorn Karen Ham.” In this wary, from the campaign to be launched from the new academic session will not remain confined to only ensuring children’s admission to schools. But it will continue throughout the year to ensure students’ regular attendance in schools and constant improvement in their educational abilities. Chouhan said that a list of students worthy of admissions to classes I, VI and IX should be chalked out, according to which their admission in schools should be ensured. All the children in classes I to IV and classes V to VII from the academic session 2011-12 should be registered in classes II through V and Class VII to Class VIII this year.
Responsibility has been entrusted to in-charges to identify out of school children and contact parents to get them admitted.
A list of children admissible to classes I, VI and IX is being prepared and posted on the education portal this year. For the first time this year, child tracking action is being taken through posting of lists of children admissible to Ist, VIth and IXth standards and those out of school on the online education portal.
Special training centres and residential hostels should be run with the assistance of voluntary organisations for out-of-school, orphanned and destitute children, the CM said. He urged the people’s representatives to give their leadership in widening the ambit of this campaign in respective districts, chalk out a proper action plan and implement it in a systematic way so that children attend schools regularly and complete education at least up to the secondary level.

Yogesh Sharma – great person, excellent scribe

May 1, 2012
By Muslim Saleem
Bhopal, May 1, 2012
Yogesh Sharma, who died of a massive heart attack at the age of 50 years on April 30, 2012 at Bhopal and cremated on May 1, 2012, was among the rare breed of perfect human beings. He served Madhya Pradesh Government’s Directorate of Public Relations for over 30 years. My association with him had been for about 4 years. That much period of time is enough to judge a person’s demeanor. He was among the rare populace, who has single-minded pursuits, straightforward approach, candid and honest expression and impeccable character. His dedication and hard work was exemplary. He was also a great writer. He had the uncanny ability of expression. When he wrote, words, idioms and phrases served as his humble servants. Yogesh Sharma was such a juggler of words that drabbest of news items and subjects became readable and interesting when written by him.  Yogesh Sharma had evolved his own style of writing news. Headlines of his news were always in multi-decks and the news item was broken into several sections each carrying a sub-headline, reports SMS News & Features.

Father of Indian Constitution Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was born at Mhow near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. But this fact remained suppressed until BJP government took reins of the state. And it was during the eight-year rule of present Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan that a grand memorial in the name of Dr. Ambedkar was built at Mhow. Not only this, but the present State Government also played an important role in starting Ambedkar Mahakumbh over there. Chief Minister Mr Chouhan says his government wishes to construct a grand memorial at Delhi also at Dr. Ambedkar’s Nirvan Bhumi, but his hands are tied since the Union Government is not cooperating, reports SMS News & Features.

Poetic tribute to monthly Imkan edited by Malikzada Manzoor Ahmad by Muslim Saleem

Malikzada Manzoor Ahmad, one of the great poets and writers of Urdu has been waging a relentless war against the black sheep of Urdu literature. In the March-April edition of monthly Imkan, he has written an editorial entitled “Tash-heeri Adab” in which has exposed the people who are hogging limelight through unfair means in Urdu literary world as well as mushairas. Inspired by this editorial, I (Muslim Saleem) have written a qata as ode to Monthly Imkan. Both the qata and the editorial are being posted here for the benefit of Urdu lovers. It is matter of shame that mutashairs are reciting poetry composed by others in mushairas and stealing the limelight. Similarly, some magazines are publishing special issues on insignificant people by taking money from them. The editorial gives a severe blow to these malicious tendencies. (Muslim Saleem – April 5, 2012)
