"There is less time left for the Mission 2013. After leaving the holidays, we have just 285 days with us and we have to create history in these days only. We have to work hard to bring back Shivraj Singh Chouhan to power, because with his return to power the history would be created." This was averred by State BJP president Prabhat Jha on Saturday while addressing BJP executive meeting at Orchha. SMS News & Features predicts that Shivraj Singh Chouhan will become Chief Minister of the State for a record third time on the strength of tremendous works done by him.
Earlier, National General Secretary of BJP Ananth Kumar, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, State president and MP Prabhat Jha formally inaugurated the meeting by hoisting the party flag. The State Working Committee meeting started in the royal court of Ram Raja in Orcha.
The BJP State executive on Saturday passed a resolution asking party leaders to make all-round efforts to form the party’s Government for a third term in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
It was also decided that in the next general elections, the Congress needed to be uprooted from power at the Centre.
The resolution stated that coming to power for the first time was difficult, a second term was more difficult and a lot of effort was needed to form Government for a third term. The party workers have dual responsibilities - taking development work and pro-people schemes to the masses and highlighting faulty policies of the Centre.
The political resolution was brought in the meeting by BJP general secretary Nandkumar Singh Chouhan and supported by Rajya Sabha member Maya Singh. However, Maya Singh did not attend the meeting.
The resolution also stated that vikas yatras (development marches) would again be taken out in the State, as between January 20 and February 26.
Later, Chouhan spoke to media persons and said his party would support the agitation of small traders, proposed from April 9, against the amendment in the Food Security Act. To a query, he stated that Uma Bharti was not invited to the meeting as she was an MLA of Uttar Pradesh and a national leader. He could not clarify as to why the BJP was taking credit for withdrawal of VAT on few commodities. To a query on whether the State Government did not follow suggestions of the BJP over not imposing VAT on sugar, cloth and electricity, he could not give a satisfactory reply. Chouhan said that out of 153 legislators, 15 did not submit the report regarding vikas yatras. Besides, reports from 67 constituencies, where defeated candidates had taken out yatras, had also not been arrived yet. Chouhan clarified that this could be laxity, but was definitely not indiscipline. There are 35 States in the country and in them if any State is moving on the path of good governance and Ram Rajya, thrn we could proudly say that it is only Madhya Pradesh.
