MP government’s commitment toward Dr. Ambedkar

Father of Indian Constitution Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was born at Mhow near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. But this fact remained suppressed until BJP government took reins of the state. And it was during the eight-year rule of present Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan that a grand memorial in the name of Dr. Ambedkar was built at Mhow. Not only this, but the present State Government also played an important role in starting Ambedkar Mahakumbh over there. Chief Minister Mr Chouhan says his government wishes to construct a grand memorial at Delhi also at Dr. Ambedkar’s Nirvan Bhumi, but his hands are tied since the Union Government is not cooperating, reports SMS News & Features.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid rich tributes to Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at his birth place in Mhow. Addressing the Ambedkar Mahakumbh and National Unity and Social Harmony Convention on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh government wishes to construct a grand memorial at Parinirvan Bhumi in New Delhi. Construction of a grand memorial over there is being delayed due to non-cooperative attitude on the part of the Union Government since Parinirvan Bhumi of Baba Saheb is under its possession. Chief Minister Mr Chouhan made an appeal to the Prime Minister to allot this land to Madhya Pradesh government if the Union Government is unable to construct a memorial over there. Madhya Pradesh government is ready for all round development and construction of this memorial.
Chief Minister Mr Chouhan said that the State Government has constructed a grand memorial of Dr. Ambedkar at Mhow. This year, a giant bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar will also be erected at Mhow. Ambedkar Mahakumbh will be given such a grand look that people from all over the world will be enthusiastic to witness it. He said that Dr. Ambedkar possessed a unique personality. Whatever he did for social upliftment is worthy of being followed. Madhya Pradesh government is trying to follow his foot steps. The government is running several schemes for the welfare and development of weaker and poor sections of society.
Giving information about the welfare and development works undertaken by the State Government for scheduled castes, Chief Minister Mr Chouhan announced that now coaching will be imparted to scheduled caste youths for UPSC exams. In the first phase two each students will be selected for it from every district of the state. Later, this number will be increased.
The Chief Minister said that full attention will be paid for making available all the facilities to the devotees coming to Mahakumbh. The devotees expressed satisfaction over the arrangements unequivocally. Describing devotees as guests, the Chief Minister said that the State Government feels honoured and pleased to welcome the guests.
Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan took food with devotees at Bhojanshala (food zone) of Ambedkar Mahakumbh at Mhow today. Chief Minister Mr Chouhan also visited the grand memorial built at the birth place of Baba Saheb and offered floral tributes to his statue. He also inspected an exhibition focusing on Baba Saheb’s life. Earlier, he visited Ambedkar National Social Research Institute.
